Think of a question and write it down if you like. The sky does not say yes or no; it gives one of three answers: “The sky is open”, “The clouds are parting” or “The sky is still closed”. Your question never leaves this device.

The sky is cloudy for now. Think of your question, then ask.

A question for the sky

Your question stays on this screen; it is not sent or stored anywhere.

How it works

Reading the clouds is an old tradition: people looked up and searched for a sign in the shape, the drift and the opening of the clouds. Ask the sky is a small game built on that habit of looking up; the clouds part at the moment you ask.

The sky does not say yes or no. It gives three answers: “The sky is open” (close to yes, the way is bright), “The clouds are parting” (maybe, it takes time) and “The sky is still closed” (not yet). Instead of a verdict it shows a direction; the decision is yours.

The answer is chosen in your browser with a secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues): the three states are equally likely, and each has a pool of ten sentences. The text of your question plays no part in the choice.

Your question stays on this screen; it is not sent to us or to any server, it is not stored, and it is gone when the page closes. This device only counts how many questions you asked today: three a day, then the sky rests until tomorrow.

Questions

Why is there no yes or no?
The sky does not give verdicts, it gives weather. An open, parting or closed sky is a sign that leaves the decision with you: you may see the same question one way today and another way tomorrow.
Is my question saved anywhere?
No. What you type stays on this screen only; it is not included in any request, link or image. The link you share carries only the sky’s answer.
Why three questions a day?
One question, one sky: asking the same thing again and again does not change the answer, it only tires the sky. The counter is kept on this device only and resets at midnight.
Who wrote the answers?
The states and the sentences were prepared by CloudOmen. It is all for fun: nothing here promises health, money or love.

The sky waits for you in the app, every day.
